Job description

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking clinical and administrative duties related to immunisation, primarily delivered on-site for primary and secondary children in schools and community clinics.

Main duties of the job

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively to support the team, organization, and stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Vaccinate 20 to 25 schoolchildren per hour during flu season.
  • Promote and support the operation of the School Aged Immunisation Service.
  • Support Programme Managers, Team Lead, and Clinical Lead as applicable.
  • Attend sites across different locations as directed by your line manager.
  • Provide effective, evidence-based, and competent care to patients.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and staff development.
  • Report, monitor, and process all clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints per organizational policies.
  • Participate in audits, make recommendations, and share outcomes for team learning.
  • Keep records up to date following company policies and guidelines.
  • Contribute actively to team meetings.
  • Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and caregivers.
  • Perform other duties appropriate to this level of position.

Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school immunisations, including Influenza, across various counties and North London boroughs.

We also provide outbreak response for vaccine-preventable diseases and administer the infant BCG programme in North London.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, or Allied Healthcare Professional with registration (NMC, GPhC, HCPC).
  • Proof of immunisations including Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella.
  • Experience in vaccine administration.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of the National Immunisation schedule.
  • Knowledge of informed consent principles.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel.
