Job summary

MiCLU’s Breaking the Chains project seeks an Immigration Solicitor or Senior Caseworker to build a career on an innovative project helping asylum-seeking children and young people. The role offers hands-on representation in immigration matters, with a focus on trauma-informed practice and advocacy.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team at Islington Law Centre, with opportunities to grow expertise, learn from experienced colleagues and contribute to meaningful change while offering

Qualifications

• Accredited Senior Caseworker level under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme.
• Ability to work outside office hours to meet the needs of young clients.
• Experience representing children and young people in asylum and immigration matters.

Responsibilities

• Represent children and young people in asylum, immigration and trafficking matters.
• Develop advocacy, case preparation and strategic litigation skills.
• Work with the Islington Law Centre's Migrant and Refugee Children’s Legal Unit and partner organisations.
