Clarke Willmott Llp’s Immigration team in Manchester is seeking a proactive Paralegal to support fee-earning work and day-to-day administration on a varied immigration caseload.

You'll work alongside experienced solicitors in a fast-paced environment, handling tasks such as client intake, research, document drafting (supervised) and preparing bundles for tribunals, while developing your experience within a National law firm.

About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal to join our new Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked Immigration team. Working on a varied caseload, we are looking for someone to help support the team in their day-to-day work handling high quality immigration law matters.

You will be joining our supportive and friendly Immigration team in our Manchester office which comprises 2 Partners, 5 Solicitors and 4 paralegals. You will have the opportunity to develop your experience by assisting the team, including providing fee-earning support whilst also undertaking some administrative duties.

Day to day, you'll be successful in this role by:

Alongside experienced Immigration solicitors, you will be working across a varied caseload covering:

  • Work & study in the UK
  • Family visits and settlement
  • Citizenship
  • Sponsor licensing for businesses and educational institutions
  • Refugee & human rights law
  • EU settlement scheme
  • Deportation

You will also assist with:

  • Client take on (including undertaking anti-money laundering checks; conflict checks; and drafting risk assessments)
  • Supporting the team with client facing actions including social media and seminars
  • Managing diaries including diarising meetings and calls
  • Drafting legal documents (with supervision)
  • Conducting legal research, as requested
  • Preparing bundles for Immigration Tribunal and higher court cases.
  • Assisting with business development activities including pitches, proposals and tenders
  • Preparing and collating marketing materials
  • Liaising with clients and taking part in client meetings

This can be a fast-paced position and you will need to be proactive and flexible to meet the demands of your team. You will need to be able to prioritise a number of different tasks effectively, enabling the team to work as efficiently as possible. You also need to have a high level of accuracy in your work.

It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.

A law degree or appropriate legal qualifications would be an advantage.
