Job summary

The Home Office seeks a Litigation Caseworker for the Government Recruitment Service in Sheffield. This full-time, permanent role involves handling pre-action protocol work and managing judicial review challenges, working closely with Government Legal Department and other authorities.

You will start by building expertise in immigration-related cases, prioritising deadlines and coordinating with decision-makers to defend positions.

Qualifications

• Experience with pre-action protocol and judicial review processes is preferred.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple cases.

Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to pre-action protocol correspondence and judicial review challenges.
• Escalate policy or procedural issues arising from litigation.
• Instruct and liaise with government lawyers to determine defence strategy with GLD, OAG or CSO.
• Support cost negotiations and secure appropriate financial authority where needed.
• Maintain accurate records across IT systems.
