Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Maths teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Telford, Shropshire, with an immediate start. The appointment is temporary with potential for extension.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across KS3 and GCSE, build positive relationships with students and maintain high expectations in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school.
• Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching Mathematics.
• Be able to teach effectively across KS3 and/or GCSE.
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Be adaptable, reliable and able to settle quickly into a new school environment.
• Have high expectations of students and a commitment to improving outcomes.
• Be passionate about Mathematics and able to inspire and engage learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons across the relevant key stages.
• Teach engaging and appropriately challenging lessons to students of varying abilities.
• Monitor and assess student progress, using information to inform future teaching.
• Establish positive relationships with students and maintain high standards of behaviour.
• Differentiate learning effectively to meet individual student needs.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Mathematics department.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
