Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy Ltd is seeking a Catering Assistant for a busy café in Newport, with an immediate start. The role is a 2-week placement offering 32.5 hours per week across daytime shifts (10:30–17:00). You will perform a mix of front-of-house and kitchen duties and provide friendly, efficient service to customers.

Ideal candidates have hospitality or customer service experience and are flexible about weekends. This is a short-term, paid placement with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality, catering, retail or customer-facing environments.
• Confident to serve customers in a busy setting.
• Willing to perform front-of-house and kitchen duties.
• Reliable, friendly and hardworking.
• Flexible with weekends and able to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Help prepare and set up food and refreshments.
• Support counter and front-of-house service.
• Assist with general kitchen duties and washing up.
• Keep areas clean and well organized.
• Restock food, drinks and supplies.
• Work as part of an established catering team.
• Work 5 days per week, including weekends when required.
