Cucumber Catering is recruiting experienced Care Home Chefs for ongoing agency work across the Newcastle area, NE postcode zones. The role involves preparing nutritious meals for residents in care homes, with immediate start and flexible shifts.

You will work with the care team to meet dietary requirements, maintain high hygiene standards, and enjoy weekly pay with DBS support and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Care home chef experience is essential.
• Experience in a care home or similar healthcare environment.
• Confident preparing meals for large numbers of residents.
• Knowledgeable about special diets and dietary requirements.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passionate about providing good-quality food.
• Available to work a good number of shifts.
• Ready to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents.
• Follow menus and cater for individual dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals for residents with allergies, intolerances and special diets.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time; maintain food hygiene and safety standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with regulations.
• Manage stock and minimise food waste.
• Work effectively as part of the care home team.
• Adapt menus and meals to meet residents' needs.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to residents and staff.
