HP4 RECRUITMENT LTD in Canterbury is seeking an IMI-qualified MET Technician to join a busy automotive workshop. You will work on mechanical, electrical and trim repairs, collaborating with bodyshop staff to ensure safe, high-quality repairs.

The role requires diagnosing faults and maintaining comprehensive repair documentation. This full-time, permanent position offers competitive hourly rates (£22-£24), ongoing training and clear career progression within a well‑established workshop

Qualifications

• IMI qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Proven experience as an MET Technician / MET Fitter / Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Previous experience within a bodyshop or accident repair environment is highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs on a range of vehicles.
• Remove and refit mechanical and electrical components.
• Diagnose faults and identify additional repair requirements.
• Complete strip and refit work to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Work closely with body repair technicians and other workshop staff.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
• Accurately complete job cards and repair documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment.
• Work efficiently to meet workshop productivity and quality targets.

About the Role

Our client is a well-established automotive business with a busy workshop in Canterbury, and they are currently looking for an experienced IMI-qualified MET Technician to join their growing team.

This role will focus on the mechanical, electrical and trim aspects of vehicle repair, working alongside a wider bodyshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
