Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Level 3 Imaging Technologist to join a growing business in the beautiful island of Bermuda!


Along with a salary in the region of $93,000 (almost tax-free!), you will also receive a good relocation package (for the employee only), including a work permit, initial and end flights, and free accommodation for the first 13 weeks. Bermuda offers an amazing quality of life with a focus on outdoor activities such as walking, running, beaches, swimming, and nature. It’s an incredibly welcoming and friendly environment, local buses are excellent, and many people use mopeds.


They are searching for various roles within secondary care, specifically looking for qualified and experienced Level 3 Imaging Technologists for roles to start over the coming months, with availability and a commitment for 2-year contracts, or to commit to ad-hoc 3–6-month contracts based on a 40-hour week.


Responsibilities:
  1. Actioning physicians’ requisitions, producing and evaluating images for diagnostic clarity and possible pathology. Communicating deviations from quality control norms to the Imaging Resource Technologist, Senior Imaging Technologist, or Radiologist/Cardiologist as required.
  2. Operating and maintaining Imaging and Imaging support equipment (PACS cube, PACS, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner.
  3. Transporting and using portable equipment to required hospital areas to perform imaging procedures. Observing all Critical Care area policies, sterile techniques, and anaesthesia safety precautions.
  4. Accepting responsibility for continuing competencies through ongoing professional development, including participation in educational programs.
  5. Practicing Radiation Safety and Infection Control techniques at all times.
  6. May be required to rotate through the imaging modalities to gain experience and/or credentials to work in specialized areas based upon certifications. The modalities include Radiology, CAT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Bone Density.

Qualifications & Registration Required:
  1. Undergraduate degree in Medical Imaging or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
  2. Registration/certification from an accredited program: Radiology, CAT scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Bone Density. Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  3. Modality (post-primary pathway) CAT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Bone Densitometry.
  4. Post-graduate experience required with the applicable certifications from an accredited institution (based on jurisdiction) and actively rotating.

Salary offered is in the region of $93k almost tax-free, based on a 35-hour working week. Additional hours/overtime may be available and paid separately or with additional time off in lieu. Locum/temp contracts paid at $50/hour x 40 hours per week, plus some overtime potentially.
