Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a Band 2 Radiology Department Assistant to support imaging services. You will prepare patients for examinations, help position them, and assist with interventional procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role involves rotating across hospital sites and working 7.5 or 12.5 hour shifts on a 24/7 basis, including nights and bank holidays. Full-time with part-time considered and sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Good level of numeracy and literacy.
• Evidence of basic computer skills.
• Willingness to undertake further training in basic anatomy and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of imaging, including preparing patients for examinations.
• Help position patients for examinations.
• Assist with interventional procedures.
• Support patients through the imaging process, communicating with and reassuring those who are unwell or distressed.
• Contribute to a high standard of patient care.
• Carry out some duties unaided, under Trust and directorate policy and at the discretion of qualified staff.
• Rotate on a roster across the hospital, Community Diagnostic Centre and Cromer District Hospital as required.
• Work 7.5 or 12.5 hour shifts across the 24-hour period, including nights, seven days a week and bank holidays.
• Act as a role model for the Trust's PRIDE values.
