Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated radiographer with excellent leadership skills and relevant experience to join our team in the Division of Imaging at MFT.

The post is a Site Lead role at Trafford General Hospital that will provide site lead support to Withington Community Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital as required.

We are looking for a highly motivated radiographer with shared values to join our Imaging team. You will have extensive post registration experience and ideally some service management experience or experience of working at a senior level in a service or team.

A passion for high quality care and continually improving patient experience and quality is essential as are excellent interpersonal skills. We view leadership as key to our success; therefore you should be able to demonstrate this throughout the recruitment process.

You must be able to motivate staff to achieve high standards, and possess excellent communication skills to ensure that the aims of the organisation are achieved.

Main duties of the job

Duties include:

1. Manage the inpatient flow and escalation for Imaging within TGH.
2. Support senior colleagues and other management staff to deliver the Imaging services at TGH / WCH and support at Wythenshawe Hospital.
3. Provide HR and general management support for the radiology team on the TGH & WCH site.
4. Work with the radiographers and Radiographic Department Assistants (RDAs) to ensure day to day operational service is provided in the most efficient manner possible.
5. Organise staff to meet the required demand.
6. Ensure any impact on the clinical service from any shortfalls of staffing is minimised.
7. As manager of a distinct service continually seek ways to improve the provision of the service.
8. Take a lead in implementing change that will result in service improvement.
9. Participate in the recruitment process for relevant staff.
10. Provide leadership support into theatre scheduling at TGH.
11. Provide Imaging input into the Trafford Elective Hub.

You should also be aware of competing pressures within hospital and Imaging services and be able to make decisions and prioritise according to clinical need and priority. In addition, the patients' needs will always be at the centre of any focus that you have.
