Job summary

Euro-projects Recruitment Ltd is seeking an R&D Scientist in Nottingham to lead imaging research projects using MATLAB and advanced analysis. The role combines physics, imaging, optics and AI to develop next-generation detection systems.

You will design experiments, analyse datasets and develop ML/AI algorithms, collaborating with engineering and leadership to deliver robust scientific solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • PhD, MSc or degree in Physics or related field.
  • Strong MATLAB experience essential for modelling and data analysis.
  • Experience with imaging technologies, optics or X-ray imaging is advantageous.
  • Right to work in the UK and eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

  • Design, lead and manage scientific research projects, experiments and evaluations from inception to delivery.
  • Use MATLAB to develop, test and optimize algorithms and analyses.
  • Analyse complex datasets and translate findings into reports and executive summaries.
  • Develop ML/AI-based algorithms to improve detection performance and reduce false positives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations and leadership to integrate recommendations into products.
  • Support advanced imaging solutions involving X-ray technology, optics and related disciplines.
  • Present research outcomes to internal stakeholders, customers, partners and wider technical communities.
  • Maintain high standards of scientific rigour, quality and compliance.
