Job summary

Lyca Health Orpington is seeking an Imaging Health Care Assistant to support the Imaging Team across Ultrasound, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Cross-Sectional Imaging. You will assist the Lead Imaging Nurse and Radiologists, ensuring patient care, preparation, aftercare and sample handling are performed to local policy.

The role requires caring experience, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly across a 08:00-20:00 rota, including weekends.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in health and social care or equivalent.
• Proven literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience working in a care environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Providing both administrative and clinical support within the Imaging Department.
• Assist and provide support within Ultrasound, ensuring preparation and aftercare of patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Assist the Radiologist with Ultrasound guided Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA's) and ensure correct setup and sample handling.
• Assist the Breast Radiologist in biopsy & aspiration procedures with correct setup and sample handling.
• Promote independence and encourage the patient to undertake tasks within their capabilities with assistance.
