Job description

Job Title: Project Manager – Operational Technology

Location: Barrow-In-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support and lead Operational Technology projects throughout their full lifecycle including performing initial research and market scans, proof of concepts, pilots and full implementation projects

  • Work collectively in a multi disciplined team, developing and implementing Operational Technology projects to improve the Submarines programme

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as inter-business teams, BAE sectors including Group and suppliers

  • Produce and review Manufacturing Technology documents to support Operational Technology projects through their lifecycle and ensure it is stored appropriately

  • Produce business benefits and business cases for Operational Technology

  • Apply problem solving techniques to progress technology solutions to improve the use of Operational technology in Manufacturing, Construction & Commissioning processes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Operational Technology including SCADA & IoT and Information Technology

  • Previous exposure to implementing complex projects to budget and time

  • Experience in implementing process improvements or changes into an organisation

  • Good understanding of the full project lifecycle

  • Strong Stakeholder Management skills

Desirable:

  • Project Management accreditation such as the APM or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing

  • Experience in Research & Development activities

The Manufacturing Technology Team:

By joining us at this exciting time in the team, you will have great exposure to various submarine programmes and with that have the chance to view the opportunities and challenges within each. The programme work is varied and the team deliver on stages from Research and Development through to implementation stages. Operational Technology is relatively a new area to the submarine business, therefore you have the opportunity to drive and influence the direction of the business and ways of working. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
