About The Job
We are seeking an exceptional Illustrator with a flair for animation and a strong foundation in creative design to join TryHackMe on a fixed-term contract. Your role will involve bringing our platform to life by designing our new company mascot, animating key content, and establishing a visual style that defines our product.

This position is ideal for someone who is not only a talented artist but also understands how illustration, animation, and design can combine to create engaging learning experiences. Your work will be seen by millions, from animated badges to custom visuals. We aim to build an iconic brand and deliver unforgettable educational content.

Responsibilities

1. Illustrate content for courses, landing pages, social media, and more
2. Animate badges, characters, and lesson visuals in Rive
3. Lead the development of our mascot “Echo” — designing expressions, poses, and key moments
4. Collaborate with content and product teams to produce engaging, on-brand visuals
5. Create brand assets for slides, campaigns, and internal projects as needed

Requirements

1. At least 2 years of experience in illustration or design
2. Ability to animate in Rive or willingness to learn quickly (mandatory)
3. Portfolio demonstrating strong illustration skills (character design, digital assets, environments)
4. Experience designing expressive characters and visuals suitable for product use
5. Proficiency in Illustrator (our primary drawing tool)
6. Strong design sense with attention to detail, layout, and visual consistency
7. Proactive, independent, and able to work at a fast pace
