Job summary

MSI Defence Systems in the United Kingdom seeks an IFS Technical & Business Solutions Lead to own IFS Cloud governance, optimise and develop the platform. You will bridge IT, operations and partners to drive improvements and measurable value across business functions.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in IT, BIS or related field; relevant experience considered.
  • Three+ years supporting or administering an ERP platform, preferably IFS.
  • Experience in business process mapping, requirements gathering and cross-functional engagement.
  • Strong troubleshooting, workshop facilitation and user training capabilities.
  • Understanding of enterprise business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own IFS Cloud governance, standards and the strategic development roadmap.
  • Chair ERP review forums and prioritise enhancements, projects and change requests.
  • Manage relationships with IFS support partners and third-party consultants.
  • Partner with departments to identify inefficiencies and map requirements in IFS.
  • Lead transformation of business requirements into technical designs.
  • Lead stakeholder workshops and implement effective system solutions.
  • Champion digital transformation, automation and reduced manual processes.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement roadmap with new functionality and modules.
  • Measure and report realised benefits, efficiencies and ROI.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support, resolve issues and identify root causes.
  • Support Super Users, coordinate with Anthesis and IFS, maintain core docs.
  • Work with IT on integrations, data flows, security, testing, upgrades and change control.
  • Support reporting, dashboards and BI initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training and onboarding for IFS users.
  • Build Super User capability and drive sustained adoption.
  • Facilitate requirements discussions and provide updates to senior management.
  • Other relevant responsibilities as required.

The Role

The IFS Technical & Business Solutions Lead is MSI Defence Systems’ internal owner and subject matter expert for IFS Cloud, responsible for its support, governance, optimisation and development. Bridging IT, business operations and external partners, the role will drive process improvement, system adoption and measurable value across all business functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own IFS Cloud governance, standards and the strategic development roadmap.
  • Chair ERP review forums and prioritise enhancements, projects and change requests.
  • Manage relationships with IFS support partners and third-party consultants.
  • Partner with departments to identify inefficiencies, map requirements and improve ways of working through IFS.
  • Lead transformation of business requirements into technical designs.
  • Lead stakeholder workshops and implement effective system solutions.
  • Champion digital transformation, automation and reduced reliance on manual processes.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement roadmap, introducing new functionality, automation and future modules where they add value.
  • Measure and report realised benefits, efficiencies and return on investment.
  • Provide second- and third-line support, resolving application and process issues and identifying root causes.
  • Support Super Users, coordinate with Anthesis and IFS, and maintain core support documentation.
  • Work with IT to manage integrations, data flows, security, permissions, testing, upgrades and change control.
  • Support reporting, dashboards and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver practical training, guidance and onboarding support for IFS users.
  • Build Super User capability and drive sustained user engagement and adoption..
  • Facilitate requirements discussions and provide clear recommendations and updates to senior management and Steer Co.
  • Other relevant responsibilities as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Business Analysis or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • At least three years’ experience supporting or administering an ERP platform, preferably IFS.
  • Proven experience in business process mapping, optimisation, requirements gathering and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, workshop facilitation and user-training capability.
  • Sound understanding of enterprise business processes.
Desirable
  • IFS Cloud or IFS Apps 10 experience within manufacturing or defence.
  • Project management, systems integration, SQL, reporting or Power BI experience.

  • Clear communicator and confident facilitator, able to influence and constructively challenge at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement.
