Job summary

The Haven Wolverhampton is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This full-time role supports women experiencing domestic abuse, coordinating with housing, health, social care, police, and MARAC to improve safety and outcomes.

You will manage caseloads, conduct risk assessments, and provide practical and emotional advocacy to women and their children, within a supportive, safeguarding-focused team.

Contract: Fixed Term Maternity Cover (12 months)

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

The Haven Wolverhampton is looking for a passionate and dedicated Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join our Community Services team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support women experiencing domestic abuse, helping them to increase their safety, access their rights, and move towards safer, more independent futures.

As an IDVA, you will provide specialist advocacy and support to high-risk victims of domestic abuse, working closely with partner agencies including housing providers, health services, social care, police, and MARAC to achieve the best outcomes for women and their children.

What You’ll Be Doing

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• A commitment to empowering women and promoting equality.

Previous experience within a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) service and/or an IDVA qualification would be advantageous, although training and development opportunities are available.
