Previous experience of clinical information systems and remote support software would be a definite advantage.

Person specificationEducationEssential criteria- Post graduate or equivalent Professional qualification (e.g. MSc or MCSE)
- Strong Technical Experience - MCP
- Broad knowledge of computer system(s), hardware and software and networking acquired through diploma or equivalent experience/qualification.
Desirable criteriaSkills and KnowledgeEssential criteria- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to clarify a problem, seek all relevant information, detect trends and link cause and effect, and identify the critical issues in a complex situation
- Ability to manage own workload, work with minimal supervision, be highly motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active
- Advanced Active Directory administration, configuration and maintenance skills.
- Knowledge and experience of: • Storage Area Networks (SAN) • Network Attached Storage (NAS) • VB or Windows Scripting • LDAP/ADSI
- Specialist in a minimum of two core areas (SQL, Active Directory, Exchange, Backup, IIS/Web, Scripting, high availability)
Desirable criteria- VMS experience
- Experience with Cisco switch and router configuration and administration
ExperienceEssential criteria- Minimum 5 years 3rd line/systems support experience
- Experience of supporting and administering VMWare ESX server including high availability and consolidated backup
- Minimum of 2 years experience of systems administration/management in an enterprise environment (over 100 servers)
