Job summary

Cleveland Clinic London is seeking a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist ICU/Acute to join our Therapy Services team. This full-time, 12-month fixed-term role is based in London, with a 37.5-hour week and shifts 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm.

You will lead assessment and treatment for complex speech, language and swallowing issues in ICU and acute wards, collaborate with the MDT, and contribute to professional development within a high-acuity private hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
• Post-graduate specialist skills such as FEES, videofluoroscopy and tracheostomy management.
• Experience in appraisal/supervision of therapists/students.
• Specialist knowledge for complex communication and swallowing disorders in critical care and acute wards.
• Effective communication with the MDT and families.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess, diagnose and manage complex communication, swallowing and tracheostomy needs in ICU/acute wards.
• Provide clinical expertise in speech and language therapy to the MDT for neuro/medical patients.
• Deputise for SLT Lead when required.
• Educate and train therapists and MDT members in communication and rehabilitation.
• Provide supervision and coaching to other therapists.
