Job summary

The London Clinic in London is seeking a Resident ICU Fellow for a 12-month fixed-term, full-time post in a consultant-led unit. The role focuses on daily critical care, emergency response, and collaborative rounds with consultants and senior nurses.

Applicants must have GMC registration, at least 12 months of ICU exposure, and anaesthetic/airway experience. The position involves 44 hours weekly in a diverse surgical and medical caseload, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree and GMC registration.
• ALS and PILS training or on-site provision.
• Evidence of annual appraisal and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Carry and respond to the bleep at all times and coordinate with consultants.
• Manage each patient with a named consultant and follow ICU guidelines.
• Review critical care patients at least three times daily and join rounds.
• Provide emergency care for deteriorating patients until specialist arrives.
• Keep consultants informed of patient changes and initiate new treatments.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to uphold critical-care standards.
• Maintain accurate manual and computerised records for audits.
• Act as second responder to cardiac arrest calls and support transfers.
