Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust in Yeovil seeks an experienced Band 7 Critical Care Pathway Occupational Therapist to support ICU patients and lead rehabilitation across pathways. You will contribute to ICU follow ups, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and drive service improvements.

HCPC-registered OT with a strong track record in acute care and leadership is essential. Weekend working is part of the role, with permanent, full-time employment in Yeovil District Hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• HCPC Registered
• Commitment to advanced clinical and professional development demonstrated through courses
• Leadership training and applied learning in practice

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist OT assessment and treatment for critically ill patients in ICU and outlying wards
• Lead on complex rehabilitation planning including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs
• Contribute to ICU follow up clinics and onward referral pathways
• Work with multidisciplinary ICU team to optimise patient outcomes
• Provide leadership, supervision, and training for junior staff and students
• Support service development, audits, and quality improvement, and review of clinical pathways
• Ensure accurate documentation and safe use of equipment with Trust standards
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, including sensitive information
