Job summary

Frimley Park Critical Care Unit is a 12-bed adult ICU/HDU with planned expansion to 16 beds, delivering advanced cardiac care and CRRT. This Band 6 development role provides leadership opportunities and strong development support, including BSc/MSc study and ACCP progression.

The post requires Band 6 ICU experience, ENB/critical care modules, and current NMC registration, with a commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• RGN with ENB100 or equivalent critical care module.
• Current NMC registration.
• ENB 998 teaching/assessing course or equivalent mentorship preparation.
• Previous ICU experience at Band 6.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing care assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation across shifts.
• Act as a clinical role model promoting patient-centred care and advanced practice.
• Develop standards of patient care based on sound research findings.
• Audit and evaluate nursing care within the unit.
• Contribute to teaching of nurses and other health professionals.
• Promote infection control standards within the unit.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and workload as a Band 6 in Charge.
