Job Description:
The Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) is a UKCRC registered clinical trials unit that brings together academic, clinical and trial management expertise from across the Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (IC AHSC) to deliver world class clinical trials of all phases and designs.
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our growing team. You will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of operational activities across the ICTU portfolio, as well as being pivotal to achieving strategic direction of the wider trials’ unit.
- Undertaking a wide range of trial activities from development of initial concept and submission of grant applications with accurate costs, through senior oversight of conduct of studies to successful delivery to time and within budget.
- Establishing and maintaining strong and effective working relationships between ICTU, therapeutic area teams and Leads, and associated Departments, organisations and bodies within the College.
- Line managing members of your allocated study teams; predominantly Clinical Trial Managers and Monitors, contributing to and supporting their personal and professional development as well as assisting with training and development programmes for the wider Unit group.
- Collaborating with the Director of Operations with the implementation of new and refined processes and systems to ensure standardisation, consistency and optimal functioning across all activities.
- Professional knowledge of clinical research management acquired through a degree or equivalent and supplemented by (a) specialist training to doctorate or equivalent level, or (b) management qualification, or (c) equivalent experience
- Proven experience of professional leadership at an operational level
- A thorough understanding of, and expertise in, the conduct of clinical trials, research management and governance at a senior level.
- Experience of effective project management.
