Enjoy working with a supportive team and using your initiative in the field. Our Field teams deliver and supervise maintenance, installation, cabling, and civils works, helping keep the nation’s infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

What you’ll do:

Experience rotations across departments to develop skills, knowledge, and insight into Network Services.

This role offers progression in telecommunications and an industry-recognized qualification.

  • Work in diverse environments: offices, outdoors, BT exchanges, data centers, emergency locations.
  • Learn to install, maintain, and test onsite equipment per contract specs.
  • Work on emergency vehicles installing and testing telecoms equipment.
  • Understand Emergency Services Radio Communications and interpret VHF/RF/Microwave systems.
  • Work with Optical Fibre: cable prep, OTDR testing, interpreting results.
  • Learn about IP routers and networks.
  • Understand project requirements and how to meet customer needs.
  • Complete risk assessments and join a UK-wide field force.
  • Implement health and safety standards and regulations.

  • Willing to work at heights, outdoors, and travel across the UK.
  • Work in emergency locations and around vehicles.
  • No experience needed; full training provided.

The Requirements:

  • At least 5 GCSEs Grade 4+ (or equivalent), including Maths, English, Science/IT.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Over 18 by September 2025.
  • Able to pass security vetting and adhere to drug/alcohol policies.

Programme Specifics:

  • Duration: approx. 24 months.
  • Starting salary: £17,500, increasing during the program.
  • Qualification: Level 3 Information Communications Technician.
  • Support from training provider Bragd.
  • Primarily field-based with office and college visits.
  • Post-completion: potential full-time role with Telent.
