Our client based in Reading, Berkshire is looking for a motivated and passionate IT Support Engineer with good experience supporting schools with IT hardware and services across school sites, as well as helping to improve their ICT provisions.

This role is full-time and requires an enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.

Duties

• Supporting communication between your schools and the client, ensuring they are updated on available services and managing customer accounts.
• Joining the onsite tech team and reporting to the Trust IT Manager, responsible for maintaining IT hardware and services across school sites and supporting ICT improvements to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
• Handling technical duties related to the computer network and desktop services, including existing installations and upgrades (desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns, and hardware).
• Repairing or installing computers with standard applications and networking software, diagnosing and resolving operational issues.
• Managing technical issues impacting school operations by providing efficient solutions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience working within the education sector.
• Skilled in maintaining school computer equipment, installing software, providing user support, and troubleshooting technical problems.
• Experience with computer networks and desktop services, including upgrades and maintenance (desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns, and hardware).
• High proficiency in common user applications, especially Microsoft Office.
• Passionate about IT with a strong technical background.
• Excellent team player with good organizational and communication skills, able to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
• Capable of working independently with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proactive in finding ways to improve team services.

Basic salary ranges from £24,000 to £30,000 depending on experience.
