Job summary

A leading public sector IT services provider is looking for an IT Support professional to develop IT strategy and provide user support in Belfast. The role offers £15.33 per hour and requires a degree or relevant qualification in ICT, with practical experience in installation and support of computer equipment. Ideal candidates will have strong troubleshooting skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in installation and support of computer equipment.

  • Practical experience with IT network administration.

Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the IT Manager and Assistant Director ICT, develop and implement the Trust's IT strategy and related policies in conjunction, to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient IT and Radio/Telephony Services.
  • Provide end user support and undertake complex fault diagnosis and resolution for the full range of IT Systems within NIAS ensuring that assigned faults are managed in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Undertake routine maintenance and fault analysis, diagnosis and resolution for the full range of IT and Telephony Services in use within NIAS.
  • Provide Primary Frontline support for all of the Hardware and Software used by both of the Trust’s Control Rooms and all associated services.
  • Maintain and develop Active Directory and Email accounts across NIAS as directed by ICT Manager.
  • Maintain and develop the AVAYA VOIP telephone System and all associated hardware as directed by ICT Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
  • University Degree or a recognised equivalent professional qualification in an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) discipline. AND
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in the installation and support of the full range of network based computer equipment, such as personal computers, printers and data switches. OR
  • HND or recognised equivalent professional qualification in an Information Communication Technology (ICT) discipline and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the installation and support of the full range of network based computer equipment. OR
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in the installation and support of the full range of network based computer equipment, such as personal computers, printers and data switches.
  • Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft desktop application software and Windows operating systems.
  • Practical experience of administrating and supporting an IT Network, including the troubleshooting and configuration of devices such as Hubs, Switches and Routers
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
  • (This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post).
