We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on managing and transitioning data from traditional on-premisesSQL environments to Azure cloud solutions, with a special emphasis on master data management using MS Azure SQL. The successful candidate will be key in integrating various Management Information System (MIS) databases with Azure master data repositories. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project to migrate on-premises SQL databases to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Managing on-premises SQL server databases.
  • Develop and execute strategies for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to transition from on-premises to Azure environments.
  • Database Integration.
  • Connect on-premises MIS systems to Azure SQL databases.
  • Integrate cloud-based MIS systems through API connections to Azure master data, facilitating seamless data exchange using identifiers like Gazetteer UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number).
  • Ensure all data handling complies with UK GDPR and other relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language.

A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.
