Job description

As an ICT Infrastructure and Security Specialist in our ICT department you will:
  1. Provide support and monitoring of all DWFRS networks and security, ensuring high levels of continued service across all operational and corporate DWFRS sites.
  2. Provide design, maintenance and delivery of changes to DWFRS infrastructure and security across the service and its datacentres.
  3. Directly manage small to medium sized projects from scoping, recommending design solutions, procurement, delivery budgets through to handover into business as usual (BAU) with management processes and documentation. Provide key specialist advice and support to large ICT whole team projects, including managing technicians to achieve project tasks, for example, rolling out of new systems and delivering the BAU tasks.

  1. Experience of working with ICT infrastructure and security design, understanding of both local and nationally mandated compliance.
  2. Experience of project management, and dealing with multiple tasks at the same time.
  3. Ability to recognize issues and generate solutions to achieve business improvement.

  1. If Driving is essential to the role: You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfill the significant travel requirements of the role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. Please note Service vehicles are manual transmission only. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, we would still welcome your application and will explore any reasonable adjustments that could be put in place.
  2. The role involves some evening and weekend working.
  3. A Standard Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.
