Our client, a Defence and Security Supplier, is seeking an ICT Business Analyst for a contract position.

Important

Experience in software lifecycle management is essential.

Applicants must have been UK residents for over 3 years and be willing to undergo security checks.

This is an outside IR35 contract, initially for 6 months, with rates negotiable.

Role Overview

As part of the Windows 10 to 11 programme, the successful candidate will support software rationalisation and packaging initiatives. Responsibilities include analyzing software usage, identifying consolidation opportunities, and collaborating with IT and packaging teams to optimize application portfolios for efficiency, compliance, and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess existing software inventories across business units.
  • Gather and validate requirements for application usage and dependencies.
  • Identify opportunities for rationalisation, standardisation, and decommissioning.
  • Coordinate with packaging and deployment teams on activities.
  • Engage with vendors for license and contract optimisation.
  • Maintain documentation such as business cases, software catalogues, and migration plans.
  • Assist with UAT planning and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure compliance with security, licensing, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong IT business analysis background, especially in software lifecycle management.
  • Experience with software discovery, rationalisation, and packaging in medium to large enterprises.
  • Familiarity with application packaging tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, AdminStudio) and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, licensing, and asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and documentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting, especially using Excel.
  • Relevant certifications such as CBAP, ITIL, or TOGAF are advantageous.
