Position Reporting

Studies, Tendering and Tech Advisory Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will develop Technical Solutions during the pursuit phase of large, strategic projects across Automation and Cyber Security, producing high-quality technical content in the Bid phase. You will collaborate with Sales and Bid Managers within a dedicated Capture Team. The focus will be on high-value tenders mainly in the Brownfield Energy Industries market, including O&G, Power Generation, and Petro Chemicals. Exposure to Energy Transition segments such as Offshore Wind, Hydrogen, CCUS, Nuclear SMR, and others is also expected.

The work model is hybrid, based in St Neots, Aberdeen, or Daresbury.

Main responsibilities include

• Ensuring timely and quality delivery of tenders, adhering to specifications, safety, and quality guidelines.
• Supporting strategic Studies for future ABB projects.
• Developing and maturing technical Solution offerings in Energy Transition markets for the UK.
• Providing technical advisory support, customer workshops, and presentations.
• Assisting sales with opportunity prospecting, proposal details, and compliance.
• Owning specific opportunities, including technical solutions, where appropriate.
• Considering financial impacts in technical design to enhance work-winning strategies.
• Maintaining a network of engineering professionals and sharing best practices.
• Standardizing solutions and reporting inefficiencies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial automation, ICSS & SCADA products, and networks aligned with IEC standards and cybersecurity.
• Support experience in Cybersecurity projects within Energy Industries.
• Extensive cybersecurity expertise in DCS & SCADA solutions, including risk assessments and compliance standards.
• Experience with ABB control systems such as 800xA, AC500, and others.
• Engineering degree (B.Eng or M.Eng.) or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, collaborative approach.
• Excellent English verbal and written skills.
