Job summary

Halton Borough Council is seeking an ICART Social Worker to join the Children’s Social Care (Children and Families) team in Widnes. The role focuses on safeguarding, multi-agency work and timely decision-making to protect children and young people.

You will screen information from parents, carers, police, health and education to inform next steps, with travel across the Borough and a 37-hour week. Salary advertised with a market supplement; closing date 08/11/2026.

Qualifications

• ICART team is the first point of contact for concerns about a child.
• Screening checks with parents / carers / child / young person, police, health, education and other partner agencies.
• Provides information to enable the manager to decide next steps.

Responsibilities

• Undertake screening checks with parents / carers / child / young person and partner agencies to inform next steps.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to determine actions following safeguarding information.
• Be based in Widnes with travel across the Borough.
