Job Description:

IBM Z Series Security Administrator
Hybrid working (3 days per week onsite in Swindon)
6 Month contract initially, good scope for extension
Market rates (Umbrella-PAYE)

One of our blue chip clients is looking for an IBM Z Series Security Administrator to join the team on a long term programme of work. The ideal candidate will have experience managing and enhancing the security of the IBM Z Series mainframe environment, having a strong background in RACF for z/OS and a deep understanding of mainframe security principles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Management: Implement and manage security policies and procedures for the IBM Z Series environment.
2. RACF Administration: Configure and maintain RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) to ensure secure access control.
3. Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Monitoring and Auditing: Regularly monitor and audit security logs and reports to identify and address potential security threats.
5. Incident Response: Respond to security incidents and breaches, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of the mainframe environment.
7. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations.

Key Skills / Experience:

1. Proficiency in RACF administration and configuration.
2. Strong understanding of z/OS security features and best practices.
3. Experience with security auditing and compliance.
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
5. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
6. Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or IBM Certified Specialist.
