Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Clinical Research Fellow in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The role spans 12 months fixed term with 50% dedicated to IBD research and 50% supervised clinical training, aiming to support an eventual research fellowship and higher degree registration.

Appointees will contribute to running studies, patient care, and developing research proposals under supervision, with potential CPD and study leave opportunities.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Ability to work effectively in multi‑professional teams and communicate with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of safe, patient‑centred care while collaborating across the organisation.
• Assist Directors and investigators in running clinical studies for CRF and research hubs.
• Ensure studies are conducted to Good Clinical Practice and regulatory requirements.
• Flexible working patterns with out‑of‑hours and on‑call contribution as required.
