Job Description: IAM Security & Operations Leader at Lonza

Lonza, a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents, is seeking a dedicated leader to coordinate a key team responsible for the security and smooth operation of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment. This role involves managing an international team handling incidents, problems, tasks, and patching for various IAM services including Ballpoint, Active Directory, Azure AD, certificate management, and Privileged Access Management (PAM).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Own the team in responding to security incidents related to IAM systems, including user access issues, suspicious activity, and potential breaches.
  2. Conduct detailed investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  3. Develop and maintain an incident response plan for IAM systems.
  4. Stay informed about emerging IAM security threats and vulnerabilities, implementing patches and updates promptly.
  5. Lead a team responsible for day-to-day operations, problem resolution, and task fulfillment within IAM systems.
  6. Ensure understanding of procedures for user provisioning, access management, and lifecycle processes.
  7. Monitor and analyze IAM system performance metrics to identify and resolve operational issues.
  8. Ensure compliance with IAM policies, standards, and requirements.
  9. Provide feedback to improve IAM processes based on incident and problem case insights.
  10. Support the SailPoint project in defining test cases and resource allocation for onboarding applications.
  11. Drive engagement in identity standardization, central processes, and concepts like least privilege and Zero Trust.

Key Requirements:

  1. Technical Expertise: Knowledge of IAM processes, frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53), SailPoint, Active Directory, Azure AD, certificate management, and PAM systems. Up-to-date with security vulnerabilities and patches. Experience with GMP documentation and change request processes.
  2. Leadership & Communication: Ability to develop a high-performing, security-focused team; provide clear direction; communicate effectively across organizational levels; and deliver training on IAM processes and security strategies.
