As part of a programme of modernisation, we are taking the opportunity to update our senior associate roles and responsibilities across our qualifications.

The Content Author produces error-free, factually accurate assessments that align with the subject specification.
Core Services and Expectations
When carrying out your role, please be mindful that you represent Pearson and should always maintain your professional integrity. It is essential that you:
- Act at all times in a way which will not bring Pearson, its employees, and its representatives into disrepute.
- Read all Pearson policies and guidance prior to undertaking contracted activities.
- Respect the confidentiality of centres and learners.
- Attend any and all meetings or training sessions provided, relevant to your role, where requested by Pearson.
- Adhere to deadlines given by Pearson and ensure that all work is carried out to the best of your ability.
- Remain respectful and advocate for others to ensure and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in a professional manner when carrying out services on behalf of Pearson.
- Have personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson software, relevant malware, appropriate virus protection software, a suitable internet connection, and a personal, secure email account.
- Communicate with Pearson and its centres in a timely manner when carrying out all designated responsibilities.
- Raise any concerns if you suspect or are made aware of any malpractice, maladministration, and/or safeguarding issues.
Role Specific Services and Expectations
In addition to Pearson’s core service expectations, role-specific responsibilities include:
- Ensuring assessment materials comply with the Global Content Policy, fully support accessibility, diversity, equality, inclusion, and sensitivity guidelines.
- Ensuring all assessment materials are of high quality and show sufficient coverage of the assessment criteria.
- Producing assessment materials that are appropriate to the range of ability and will result in good discrimination and differentiation.
- Advising on subject-specific matters and providing feedback during production.
- Adhering to production schedules and keeping Pearson informed of your availability.
- Ensuring questions and assessment content are balanced and meet the specification requirements.
- Producing error-free, clear, and fit-for-purpose assessment questions.
- Providing sources and obtaining copyright permissions where necessary.
- Using reputable, error-free graphics and images where required.
- Ensuring responses and mark schemes are appropriate and accurate.
- Complying with current specifications regarding assessment duration, question format, and other parameters.
- Reviewing, marking comments, and revising assessment materials as needed.
- Attending sign-off meetings and updating materials throughout the production process.
- Signing off the final assessment materials and supporting amendments.
Experience and Qualifications required:
Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of the content area, assessments, and curriculum development.
- Ability to provide and coordinate training.
- Experience in leading quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
- Degree and a UK recognised teaching qualification.
- Proof of qualifications may be requested upon successful application.
