UUK is looking for an I&T Risk & Assurance Lead., 24 month FTC. This job is grade E18.

Based at our Capenhurst site you'll provide leadership of I&T Risk and Assurance, ensuring that Urencos I&T governance framework is operated effectively to meet internal or external audit requirements based on relevant legislation or generally accepted governance standards.

What you'll do:
• Focus on continuous improvement to ensure the framework remains relevant and adaptable in a fast-changing external environment.
• Increase the use of AI such as CoPilot and Governance Risk & Control (GRC) automation through tools and technologies.
• Oversee that work adheres to agreed processes and regulatory deadlines.
• Collaborate and influence senior stakeholders and departmental leaders to identify and implement fundamental ITGC controls within key processes, ensuring effective governance and consistency across the organisation.
• Serve as the primary IT and Cybersecurity representative for all audits, encompassing external and internal audits, internal controls, and ISO standards
• Offer guidance, support, and expertise to the business for managing ITGCs and their risks effectively, while also providing on-demand advice and subject matter expertise to implement efficient and effective IT controls.

What do you need to thrive in this role?
• Strong understanding of risk and control principles, regulatory compliance, and relevant accounting principles
• At least 5 years' experience with process, risk and controls principles and methodologies in a large, listed organisation
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders in adopting control frameworks, with expertise in testing, implementing, or designing them.
• Significant experience of implementing and improving IT and IS (cybersecurity) control frameworks.
• Highly adaptable, able to work autonomously across diverse functions, and skilled at managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously
• Good communication skills
• Willing to travel as the job demands to URENCO offices in Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and the US (Circa. 25% travel)
