Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with the IT Manager to ensure all systems, computers, and IT equipment are operational and accessible for authorized users.
  2. Coordinate with suppliers to maintain an efficient IT system.
  3. Collaborate with the external IT support provider to ensure security measures such as physical security, disaster recovery, data protection, virus protection, and backups are in place.
  4. Ensure software and anti-virus updates are performed timely to maintain system security.
  5. Support Maggie’s telephone systems in partnership with external providers.
  6. Manage file structures and access controls.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Relevant professional qualification or degree in IT.
  • Experience in training and coaching staff.
  • Experience managing external contractors.
  • Proven project management skills at various levels of complexity.
  • Understanding of IT in the private and public sectors.
  • Knowledge of databases, preferably SQL-based.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and standard applications.
  • Comfortable working with both Mac and PC platforms.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise judgment.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels.
  • Familiarity with phone systems, VOIP, Unix, and network engineering.
  • Ability to spend time at one of our centres to understand our programmes and impact.
