Job summary

Greencore at Manton Wood is hiring a Department Trainer to deliver and supervise hygiene training for new and existing staff. You will work with subject matter experts to update SOPs, run refresher sessions and maintain training records to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

The role emphasizes one-to-one coaching on the factory floor, creating clear training materials, and aligning training with site procedures. A Train the Trainer qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and Literacy at entry Level 2.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Email, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Solid knowledge of hygiene practices and procedures.
• Hands-on experience buddying and coaching individuals to learn tasks.
• Train the Trainer qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver essential training and buddying in the first 12 weeks for new starters.
• Maintain, update and develop SOPs; coordinate refresher training and audits.
• Develop and deliver training on hygiene practices and procedures.
• Provide 1-to-1 training on the factory floor and model best practice.
• Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress.
• Assist in creating Cleaning Instruction Cards and related docs.
• Verify training to ensure activities align with systems and procedures.
• Maintain skills matrices and training records on site.
• Conduct quality checks and audits of training and competence standards.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Consult with stakeholders to identify learning needs and gaps.
• Escalate complex situations to resolve training issues.

Shift Pattern - Tuesday to Saturday (Tue - Fri 10:30 - 18:30 / Sat 08:30 - 18:30)

Rate of Pay - 16.25 Per Hour

Overtime - Paid at x 1.25 after 48 hours

What you'll be doing

This role allows those who have a passion for helping others to excel, by developing colleagues to unlock their potential. You will be expected to strive for excellence in your role by working collaboratively with stakeholders within the business to deliver operational/compliance training to ensure site colleagues have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their role.

As a Department Trainer you will be working as part of the hygiene team, training the new and existing employees to enable them to keep a high standard of hygiene practice.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the delivery of/and/or deliver essential training and buddying in the first 12 weeks of employment for site new starters to ensure new colleagues are equipped to succeed in and beyond their probationary period.
• Work with subject matter experts to maintain, update and develop standard operating procedures including working practice updates, coordinating and delivering refresher training, through observations, assessments, retraining or policy and procedure updates for colleagues.
• Develop and deliver training programs on hygiene practices and procedures to employees.
• Provide 1 to 1 training on the factory floor by leading by example and conducting checks to ensure food safety.
• Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress
• Assisting in the creation of Cleaning Instruction Cards.
• Verify training previously carried out to ensure colleagues are carrying out their work activity in accordance with the systems and procedures in place
• Maintain skills matrices and training records for all colleagues on site
• Quality check, govern and validate training and competence standards are being met through regular audit
• Monitoring and reviewing progress of learners through feedback
• Use sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes
• Consult with stakeholders to draw out relevant information and provide feedback to inform learning and training needs requirements.
• Take ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate.
