Job summary

Albert Bartlett is seeking a Hygiene Department Trainer to develop, deliver and maintain hygiene and food safety training for the Weekend operation and site personnel.

The role focuses on competency, compliance, and continuous improvement, training Hygiene Operatives, agency staff and relevant employees to meet standards for food safety and audits. Collaboration with the Hygiene Manager is key, with no direct people management responsibility.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and English literacy skills.
• Food Safety, Food Hygiene, and HACCP Level 2.
• Experience working in a food manufacturing hygiene or cleaning environment.
• Strong understanding of GMP and hygiene standards.
• Confident trainer with clear communication skills.
• Good organisational and record‑keeping skills.
• Previous experience in a training or coaching role (Desirable).
• Knowledge of BRCGS standards (Desirable).
• Food Hygiene Level 3 (Desirable).
• HACCP certification (Desirable).
• Train-the-Trainer qualification (Desirable).
• COSHH or chemical safety training experience (Desirable).
• FMCG experience (Desirable).

Job description

The Hygiene Department Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining effective hygiene and food safety training across the Weekend Hygiene operation and relevant site personnel.

The role focuses on competency, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring all Hygiene Operatives, agency staff, and relevant employees are trained to the required standards to support food safety, audit readiness, and legal compliance. The Trainer works closely with the Hygiene Manager and other departments but does not hold direct people‑management responsibility.

Working hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7am to 8pm

Essential Qualifications:

· Numeracy and English literacy skills.

· Food Safety, Food Hygiene, and HACCP Level 2.
