Overview of Role

The Hygiene Team Member will ensure that hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained at a high level across the site. Responsibilities include cleaning facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to the highest standards in accordance with ABSS requirements. The role emphasizes safety for yourself and colleagues, aligning with the 'Safety First' vision and mission.

Work Schedule: Rotational days and nights pattern, 2 weeks days, then 2 weeks nights, 3 days in week 1 and 4 days in week 2. 12-hour shifts from 6 to 6, with paid breaks.

Key Accountabilities
  • Adhere to daily schedules and meet required standards
  • Assist in meeting departmental KPIs
  • Follow instructions, training, and guidelines from the hygiene department
  • Inform Hygiene Controller/Coordinator to validate completed tasks
  • Identify and act on food safety risks
  • Report hazards or defects
  • Manage work wear deliveries from laundry
  • Assist in waste reduction and removal
  • Clean site perimeter and facilities, including canteen areas
  • Operate floor cleaning machines
Additional Responsibilities
  • Flexibility to support mobility needs
  • Collaborate with pest control technicians to minimize pest activity
The Right Person

Must follow health & safety procedures, including risk assessments, PPE, and chemical safety (COSHH). Demonstrate safety leadership, ensure compliance with legislation, and contribute to safety initiatives. Be proactive in suggesting efficiency improvements and maintain equipment in good condition. Ensure cleaning meets standards, share best practices, and work proactively with colleagues.
