Overview of Role

The Hygiene Team Member will ensure that hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained at a high level across the site. Responsibilities include cleaning facilities and equipment to the highest standards in accordance with ABSS requirements, and ensuring safety for yourself and colleagues to achieve the 'Safety First' vision and mission.

You will work a rotational pattern: 2 weeks days, then 2 weeks nights, with 3 days in week 1 and 4 days in week 2. Shifts are 12 hours (6 to 6), with paid breaks.

Key Accountabilities
  • Adhere to daily schedules and meet required standards
  • Assist in achieving departmental KPIs
  • Follow instructions and guidelines from the hygiene department
  • Inform Hygiene Controller/Coordinator to validate completed tasks
  • Identify and address risks to food safety
  • Report hazards or defects
  • Manage work wear deliveries from laundry
  • Assist in waste reduction and removal
  • Maintain site cleanliness including perimeter and facilities
  • Use of floor cleaning machinery
Additional Responsibilities
  • Be flexible to support mobility needs
  • Work with pest control to minimize pest activity
The Right Person

Must follow safety procedures, including risk assessments, PPE, and chemical safety (COSHH). Demonstrate safety leadership, ensure compliance with health & safety laws, and contribute to a safety-first culture. Be proactive in suggesting improvements, maintain equipment, and ensure cleaning standards are met. Share best practices and work cross-functionally.
