Ready to lead the way in food safety and compliance? Do you want to play a key role in maintaining the high standards behind some of Britain’s most loved like Mr Kipling? We’re looking for an Apprentice Hygiene Specialist to join our technical team at our Carlton site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food manufacturing while working towards a Level 4 qualification in hygiene and safety management. You’ll develop specialist knowledge and leadership skills that are vital to ensuring our production environments meet strict safety and quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Apprentice Hygiene Specialist, you’ll work towards completing the Level 4 Hygiene Specialist apprenticeship programme through the University of Lincoln (on block release) blending academic learning with real-world application in a fast-paced food production setting.

Over the course of your apprenticeship, you’ll gain expertise in:

• Food safety, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and pest management
• Health, safety and environmental risk management
• Hygienic factory design and control measures
• Microbiological data analysis and cleaning validation
• Hygiene auditing and compliance
• Project and people management
• Business improvement and managing change

You’ll play a key role in helping to uphold hygiene standards, support audits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with hygiene experts and cross-functional teams.

What We’re Looking For:

• A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above, including Maths, Science, and English
• A genuine interest science(and a love of food doesn’t hurt!)
• Motivation to learn, take initiative, and support others
• A willingness to take on responsibility and grow as a subject matter expert
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
