Job Title: Hygiene Operative

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, 07:00 am - 6:00 pm

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Hygiene Operative to ensure high standards of cleanliness across office spaces, restrooms, and communal areas. The successful candidate will carry out a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain a safe, tidy, and hygienic environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in offices, meeting rooms, break rooms, and corridors by dusting, vacuuming, and wiping surfaces.
  • Toilet and Washroom Cleaning: Ensure washrooms are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and fully stocked with supplies.
  • Waste Removal: Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly, including general and recycling waste.
  • Surface Sanitisation: Regularly clean and disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure they are clean and safe.
  • Stock Control: Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting any shortages to the supervisor.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow health and safety regulations, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ad-Hoc Cleaning: Assist with occasional deep cleaning tasks and respond to urgent cleaning requests.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar cleaning or hygiene role is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), is beneficial.
  • Able to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
