Job description

HYGIENE MANAGER
NEWTON ABBOTT, DEVON
£38,000 - £44,000 + BENEFITS

Great opportunity here to join a prestigious company in a senior role. You will have direct responsibility for managing the Hygiene team across all shifts. This is a varied role but would suit someone looking to join a high performing team that values autonomy. The majority of the hygiene related tasks take place overnight, between 6pm - 6am; therefore, this individual will be required to offer flexibility with their working hours - but you could work 2pm-10pm for example on occasions.

The Role:

  • Lead and manage the performance and efficiency of all hygiene operatives across all shifts.
  • Management of cleaning schedules and effective implementation to ensure schedules are completed daily/weekly.
  • Writing work instructions for assembly/disassembly.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of cleaning equipment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, challenging current hygiene practices and standards across the site.
  • Effective communication and timely close out of corrective actions following internal and external GMP audits.
  • Assist with root cause investigation when incidents or trends appear.
  • Engage with training.
  • Prepare and participate in audits.

The Candidate:

  • HND/degree in a food manufacture discipline.
  • Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and awareness in BRC / HACCP/ ISO 14001/ GMP Audits.
  • Confident in managing a small team of hygiene operatives across both day and night shifts.
  • Experience in monitoring employee performance and providing training where required.
