Job description

Consulting Technology supports food manufacturers and retailers with product innovation, including rheology, new product development, value optimization, instructional development, pilot plant, quality and food safety manufacturing, thermal processing, new technologies, and regulatory affairs.

The Global Quality & Safety Team at Campden BRI offers consultancy services, auditing, and training to support food & drink manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers with all food safety & quality concerns. Food quality management systems help ensure that products are safe and fit for purpose.

We're looking for a Safety, Quality and Hygiene Specialist to support the team in delivering and developing factory hygiene services through consultancy and testing in key areas such as cleaning in place systems (CIP), personnel hygiene, hygienic design, building and air handling systems, environmental sampling, cleaning and disinfection validation, training, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical delivery of both research and contract outputs to agreed service levels.
  • Supporting business development and external marketing.
  • Delivery of training courses, both on-site at Campden BRI and off-site at client premises.
  • Answering technical enquiries on food hygiene topics.
Requirements:
  • A graduate in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent (e.g., experience).
  • A technical knowledge of the food industry (science and technology) across multiple food sectors.
  • Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing or in food legislation enforcement.
  • Practical experience of at least one industrial food safety management standard would be an advantage.
  • Formal qualification in HACCP, Level 4, is expected to fulfill the job requirements.
  • Practical experience and training in auditing.
  • Training experience at least at the Train the Trainer level is expected to fulfill the job requirements.
  • Good verbal and broader communication skills to support business development, training, and consultancy offerings.
  • Effective project and time management skills, assuring effective delivery and compliance with business practices.
  • Full UK/EU driving license.
  • IT literate, particularly with a working knowledge of PowerPoint.

We foresee this role involving travel to clients in the UK and Europe. We expect the successful candidate to be at our site in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, 2-3 times per week as required, when not traveling to clients.
