Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is hiring a Hygiene & Cleaning Operative to maintain high cleanliness standards across warehouses, fulfilment and production zones on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is 37.5 hours per week with shifts between 08:00 and 21:00, Monday to Sunday.

You will follow health and safety protocols, manage chemical handling, perform regular audits, report findings to management and collaborate with the site team to ensure compliance and efficiency in our operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning processes, chemical handling and health and safety regulations.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Effective communication and reporting abilities.
• Food Hygiene and Safety Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene across warehouses, fulfilment and production zones.
• Carry out periodic deep cleaning of critical areas per schedule.
• Identify, report and coordinate resolution of site defects or maintenance issues promptly.
• Support the use of cleaning chemicals in line with guidelines.
• Work as part of the site hygiene and cleaning team.
• Uphold food, health and safety protocols across site services.
• Perform regular audits and checks to ensure safety standards.
• Provide reports on cleanliness, chemical inventory, team performance and inspections.
• Collaborate with the team leader as required.
