Job summary

Welo Global is seeking native-level speakers for Project Hydrus, a scripted and conversational audio data collection initiative. You will record in a natural, everyday voice, following real-time direction from a Session Director during guided sessions.

You must provide scripted and unscripted speech, set up your own recording space, use a professional microphone, and deliver recordings in the required language with the specified dialect. Sessions pay $46 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience as a voice actor, actor, or theatre performer.
• Native fluency in the required language (with dialect).
• Access to a quiet, acoustically treated recording space.
• Owns or will acquire a dedicated professional microphone for audition.
• Owns closed-back monitoring headphones for recording.

Responsibilities

• Record scripted material in a natural, conversational tone.
• Record unscripted, spontaneous speech on assigned topics.
• Set up and manage your own recording space and equipment for sessions.
• Deliver all recordings in the required language and dialect, without code-switching.

WhatYou'llDoIfSelected:

• Twosupervisedsessionsofapproximately4hourseach,guidedinrealtimebyaSessionDirectoronaseparaterecordingplatform.
• Recordscriptedmaterialinanatural,conversationaltone—faithfully,withoutapolished,performed,or“announcer”delivery.
• Recordunscripted,spontaneousspeechonagiventopic,matchingthesamewarmthandpaceasyourscriptedtakes.
• Setupandmanageyourownrecordingspaceandequipmentforsessionrecording.
• Deliverallrecordingsentirelyintherequiredlanguage(withspecificdialect),withoutcode-switchingintootherlanguagesordialects.

• Ownsclosed-backmonitoringheadphones(requiredforsessionrecordingifselected).
• Comfortablebothself-directingfortheauditionandtakinglivedirectionfromaSessionDirectoringuidedsessions.

Preferred(nicetohave,notrequired)

• Professionalvoice-overexperience(dubbing/ADR,audiobook,podcasting)inaconversationalratherthancommercial/announcerregister.
• Baselineaudiohygiene:comfortablesettingmicdistanceandcatchingnoise,clipping,ordistortionyourself.
• Anexistinghomerecordingsetupalreadytreatedforsound.
