Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Hydrogeologist for roles based in London or Newcastle. The position offers £32,000 - £40,000 plus benefits, with hybrid/flexible working and a structured path toward Chartership and professional development.

You will join an established Hydrogeology & Water team, working across infrastructure, renewables, minerals, waste and property projects from initial investigation through to assessment and reporting. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ Hydrogeology experience in consultancy or similar.
• Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences or related subject.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Supervising borehole drilling, geological logging and well installation
• Groundwater and surface water monitoring programmes
• Interpreting monitoring data and developing Conceptual Site Models
• Hydrogeological Risk Assessments and Impact Appraisals
• Hydrogeological calculations and groundwater modelling
• Groundwater abstraction licensing
• EIA water chapters and technical reporting
• There is a good mix of practical and technical work, alongside experienced Hydrogeologists and wider environmental and engineering teams.

This is a good opportunity to build broader experience rather than becoming tied to one particular type of project. You'll join an established Hydrogeology & Water team, working across infrastructure, renewables, minerals, waste and property projects from initial investigation through to assessment and reporting.

The Role

You'll be involved in:

• Hydrogeological site investigations and site walkovers

About You

You’ll ideally have 1-3 years’ Hydrogeology experience within consultancy or a similar commercial environment, with a degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related subject.

A grounding in site investigation, water monitoring and hydrogeological assessment is important. Experience of groundwater modelling, abstraction licensing or EIA would be useful, but you don’t need to have covered everything.

A full UK driving licence is required.
