KBR support the hydrocarbon and government services markets on six continents. Serving their customers through diverse business units, KBR offer challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.
KBR is seeking an experienced Membrane Technologist to serve as a contract consultant for projects involving advanced gas separation processes. The consultant will provide technical expertise on membrane selection, process design, and performance evaluation for industrial applications including carbon capture, hydrogen recovery, and natural gas processing.
This role is ideal for a highly qualified membrane scientist or engineer who is available for short-term, project-based consulting and can offer strategic and technical input on a flexible basis.
Scope of Work / Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate membrane technologies (polymeric, MMMs, inorganic) for specific gas separation applications.
• Provide technical input on process design, including membrane module selection, system layout, and performance parameters.
• Support feasibility studies, pilot system evaluations, or technology benchmarking.
• Review R&D data or operational results and advise on troubleshooting or optimization strategies.
• Participate in virtual meetings.
Qualifications:
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of direct experience in gas separation membrane technology.
• Proven track record with technologies such as CO₂/CH₄, H₂/CH₄, or O₂/N₂ separation.
• Experience working as a consultant or in a self-directed technical role.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
