As a hydraulics engineer you will lead the execution of work packages and projects within the engineering team. Ensure technical specifications are met within budget for both engineering hours and direct component costs. Deliver engineering excellence to internal and external customers. Focus on timely release of parts and drawings in line with project engineering design plans.
As a hydraulics engineer you will be responsible for technical assurance of the projects and products including:
You will support the retention and development of hydraulic engineers within the team, thoroughly check engineering releases and provide technical support to procurement in the identification/qualification and verification of suppliers.
Assist with the development of future SMD Equipment products and provide support for delivered systems
Support the technical aspects of sales and bid activity, including the evaluation and interpretation of customer requirements, estimation of product and engineering cost, and supporting customer meetings and add value and contribute to the development of SMD’s equipment product range
Having an enthusiasm for engineering is a must in this role along with an understanding of commercial and financial principals. You will be a good team player with a positive and proactive approach to get the job the done with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
